Pokémon GO Announces Astral Eclipse Event Featuring Debut of Solgaleo and Lunala

Pokémon GO has added more details concerning the Astral Eclipse event, including the return of the Ultra Beasts, as well as the debut of Solgaleo and Lunala.

The company has also teased that “Nebula skies” will be making an appearance during this event, whatever that may entail is currently not known.

Pokémon GO Announces Astra Eclipse Event, Featuring UBs and More

A new Astral Eclipse event is taking place within Pokémon GO, and with it brings the return of the Ultra Beasts currently found in the game, along with the release of Solgaleo and Lunala.

Taking place from Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 10:00 a.m. local time and lasting through Monday, Nov. 28 at 8:00 p.m. local time, Trainers will be available to evolve their Cosmoem into Salgoaleo or Lunala.

To evolve these creatures, Trainers will need 100 Cosmog Candy. Evolving Cosmoem during the day will net players Solgaleo, whereas evolving Cosmoem during the night will net players Lunala.

Additionally, Special Research and exclusive Avatar Items will be available during the event. The event will also feature a Collection Challenge.

Raids, Spawns and More

In terms of the Ultra Beasts, a special Raid day is arriving to Pokémon GO Sunday, Nov. 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. During this time, Ultra Beasts will appear in raids throughout the globe. Unfortunately, they will also be staying where they were found, so Celesteela will remain in the Southern hemisphere, and Kartana will be in the Northern.

During the Astra Eclipse event, the following Pokémon will spawn more frequently in the wild (note that an asterisk means that the Pokémon does have a chance to be shiny: Alolan Rattata*, Alolan Sandshrew*, Clefairy*, Alolan Vulpix*, Staryu*, Hoothoot*, Sunkern*, Lunatone*, Solrock*, Munna*, Cottonee*, Petilil and Yungoos*.

Additionally, the following Pokémon will appear in Raids.

  • One-Star Raids: Drifloon*, Frillish (male and female), Inkay*, Rockruff*
  • Three-Star Raids: Tentacruel, Druddigon*, Hisuian Braviary*
  • Five-Star Raids: Nihilego
  • Mega Raids: Mega Houndoom
