Ask Ketchum is officially the Pokémon World Champion. After a 25 year journey, Ash has defeated Leon in the World Coronation Series to become the Champ.
The win is a part of the latest episode of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series.
Ash Ketchum Becomes Pokémon World Champion
Ash Ketchum has defeated Leon to become the Pokémon World Champion. Using a team of Dragonite, Gengar, Sirfetch’d, Lucario, Dravocish and his trusty Pikachu, Ash was able to take on Leon and his Charizard.
While this would typically be a spoiler, it’s a rather hard one to avoid. While the episode won’t see release in the U.S. until sometime “in the future”, in addition to The Pokémon Company sharing the news on Twitter, Ash’s win has made it as high as the BBC.
The win may be controversial for purists of the series, who know that Ash has won two championships before. Championship wins for Ash include the Orange League during the Orange Island series, and as well as his win in the Alola league.

Now that Ash has become the World Champion, many are wondering what’s next for our hero. While some think this may finally be the end of Ash’s journey, the current rumors suggest that the new series based around Scarlet and Violet may focus on a new protagonist.
In other Pokémon news, Silver Tempest should be hitting stores today, and we’re only a week away from Scarlet and Violet. While there is a lot of leaks arriving about the new games, we’re trying not to cover them for the time being. We’ll deliver more news about Scarlet and Violet once it sees official release.
