Today The Pokémon Company has given yet another teaser of the new Scarlet and Violet, and along with it, arrives the new Ghost Dog Pokémon Greavard.
A Mono-Ghost Type, Greavard is winning over the internet with its big-dog shape and single lit candle on its head.
Pokémon Introduces New Ghost Dog Greavard for Scarlet and Violet
Today the Official Pokémon YouTube channel presented yet another trailer for Scarlet and Violet. Along with a few new details, the trailer also revealed the new Ghost Dog Pokémon Greavard.
According the official Pokémon page,
Normally, Greavard barely moves, resting peacefully underground. It pokes the topmost part of its head above ground and lights an eerie glow at its tip, then waits for someone to approach. When a person draws near, Greavard jumps out of the ground while letting out a spooky cry that would startle most unsuspecting people. However, it doesn’t appear to do this with ill intent.
Additionally, many are also enjoying the fact that the appeal to Greavard is that making friends with the Ghost Dog is easy, but once it draw you near, it begins sucking the life-force out of anything that surrounds it. While little else is known about it right now, it does have the ability Pickup.
Naturally, the internet is absolutely losing its collective minds over this Pokémon, and how could you not? Many have taken to Twitter to already produce fan-art of this ghostly pooch.

Right now, the total known Pokémon new to Paldea region include Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Lechonk, Smoliv, Pawmi, Cetitan, Fidough, Grafaiai, Klawf, Armarouge, Ceruledge, Farigiraf, Wiglett, Bellibolt, Greavard, Cyclizar, Koraidon and Miraidon.
There’s also Paldean Whooper, which likely more Pokémon will be receiving a native variant. With many hoping for Dunsparce to finally get an evo, this seems like a great time for the Pokémon Company to throw an odd-curveball.
