Pokémon GO’s Litwick Community Day is arriving this Saturday, Oct. 15, and trainers can now start planning for how they want to spend the day.
From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, trainers will encounter more Litwick appearing in the wild. Lucky trainers will even encounter a shiny!
Litwick Community Day Arrive Saturday, Oct. 15 in Pokémon GO
This October’s Community Day will feature Litwick, the candle Pokémon. During this event, trainers will encounter more Litwick in the wild than usual. Additionally, trainers who evolve Lampent into Chandelure during the event or for up to five hours afterward, will receive a Chandelure that knows the exclusive Charged Attack Poltergeist. Poltergeist the move has 140 power during trainer battles, gyms and raids.
Event bonuses include:
- 3x Catch XP
- 2x chance to receive XL Candy
- Incense activation for three hours during the event
- 2x Catch Candy
- Lure Modules good for three hours when activated during the event
- Surprise encounters
- 50% Off Stardust cost for trades
Along with Litwick appearing more frequently in the wild, there will also be exclusive Timed Research available during this Community Day. The Research allows trainers to receive up to five Unova Stones for completing challenges within the research.
Research for Com Day and More
Along with the Timed Research, there will also be the usual $1.00 Community Day Special Research. This one being Field Notes: Tricks of Light, tasks for this Research will likely involve completing tasks centered around Community Day, likely with the goal being to evolve Lampent into Chandelure.
Also, remember that friends with Friendship level of Great Friends or higher can now send gift each other Special Research Stories.
Along with the new Research, the four-star raid battles are also making a return. Once the three-hour Community Day ends, trainers can expand the Day by beating these four-star raids. Trainers who defeat a four-star raid battle will find more Lampent’s spawning near the gym. Also note that Remote Raid Passes are no good for four-star raids.

This event is going to be a great Community Day for trainers. Fans of the game have been patiently waiting for shiny Litwick for quite awhile now, so it’s great that the little fella will finally see a debut, for a whole Community Day, no less. Additionally, along with Litwick being a great shiny, the bonuses for this event are looking rather good: the 3x XP alone should be enough to get trainers moving.
